Ingredients

  • 1 mature breadfruit
  • ½ pint evaporated milk
  • 2 ozs. margarine
  • salt and pepper and carrots
  • 1 tin peas and carrots
  • Dash of garlic salt
  • Breadcrumbs

Method

Boil breadfruit in salted water. Mash while still hot. Heat milk and margarine. Add salt and pepper. Beat into crushed breadfruit to a creamy consistency.
Line a greased pie dish with half of the mixture. Pour peas and carrots into a line dish. Sprinkle salt. Cover with breadcrumbs.
Bake in a moderate oven for 15 minutesHow To Use Ginger In Food Preparation

Ingredients

  • 1 lb meat
  • 2 ozs young ginger
  • 1 tbsp - salt to taste

Method

Cut meat into thin slices then cut the slices into slivers (about the size of your little finger).
Wash and cut the ginger into the size of match sticks
Add 1 Tbsp salad oil to a heated frying pan then add ginger and meat, stir them until the colour of meat changes, and then add salt to taste.
Serve with bread, rice etc.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe avocadoes
  • 1 lb fish or chicken
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1½ tbsp sweet pepper
  • 2 tbsp celery

Method

Wash and dry avocadoes. Cut in halves.
Prepare chicken or fish salad by removing bones flaking
Add remaining ingredients and fill avocado halves. Serve as appetizer

Ingredients

  • 1 lb pumpkin
  • 1 sprig celery
  • 1 slice ham or bacon
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp sugar

Method

Wash and peel pumpkin, cut into cubes or shred in rotary grater
Chop onion and celery finely. Chop ham or bacon also
Put all ingredients into a sauce pan, boil until pumpkin is crumbling.
Swizzle, pass through a sieve. Check taste. Heat again. Serve at once
